Exhibit 9: Alexander McQueen, skeleton stole, A/W 2001

Alexander McQueen referenced the absurdities of past fashions in Autumn/Winter 2001. For this collection a golden skeleton was draped over a model’s shoulder, in place of a fox-skin stole. This drew attention to the macabre, often barbaric, practices that have historically enabled fashion.
